New Year's eve eye makeup! Alhtough the colors barely show up; it's actually a nice, neutral brown smokey eye. |
+NOTW: Delicate Lace + Nude#=
This super feminine nail took me about 2 minutes per nail to draw in the lace design, but the end result it totally worth the time! Try it and show me how yours turned out on Instagram (with the tag #immalilcutiepie)

Sorry, I didn't take pictures step by step, but they are really simple!
Here's how to do it...
+NOTW: Galaxy Nails#=

There's a lot of glare in this pic, but it shows the glitter and shimmer when you turn the nail. This is NOT the true color, because it barely resembles a galaxy.
+NOTW: Back-2-School Pink Nude#=
Sorry for the long wait! I went on a roadtrip to NYC this past week and I had tons of fun! The weather was nice for most days and I loved shopping and Times Square. I was lucky enough to dodge a bullet by not visiting the Empire State Building on the unfortunate day of the shooting (pun intended). On a more pleasant note, I can't wait to show my makeup addicts my haul from my trip! I bought tons of clothes, all perfect for back-to-school, and lots of cute accessories! Keep up with me by following my blog, becoming my friend, etc etc and the haul should be up in a few days or so. Missing NY already.. :(
Anyways, coming back a week before school starts, I realized that I needed to start my summer homework! Eeeks!!! I decided to do a last-minute post just for you guys :)
This manicure is simple and chic, featuring a pink nude to compliment almost any outfit. I love the soft pink color on my tan skin and the color is perfect for starting a fresh new year of classes! The pink will go nicely on almost* any skin tone and I picked it up at my local Dollar Tree for only $1! It's by L.A. Colors, called "Mega Watt" from their Color Craze collection. It's a soft pink shimmery nude with a hint of beige. It's also a nice color to transition into the fall. In the picture, I applied a base coat, 2 coats of Mega Watt, and finished it off with a top coat. On my ring finger, I used a small thin brush to carefully draw a wide stripe of gold metallic acrylic paint (water-based) to make a simple but pretty accent to the previously boring nude nails. Enjoy!
I took this (above) at a museum in natural lighting, but for some reason my camera couldn't pick up the right color of pink. It looks like a yellowish nude. I took another picture (below) in the car with direct sunlight and it still doesn't pick up the pink very well. In person, it's more of a salmon-peachy tone of pink. If it helps, look at other blogger's pictures or MUA pics!

*some people may not like this color, for example: http://nailsandprettythings.blogspot.com/2010/05/la-colors-color-craze-megawatt.html; I guess it's personal preference, but I LOVE this color! Take it or leave it, it's only a buck!

+NOTW: Neon Summer#=
Note: The neon color is not truely depicted in the pictures above. It is even more neon, like an opaque pink Sharpie highlighter.
If you were following this blog, you might remember the "Nude Summer" nails from a week ago. Since my current theme revolves around summer, I decided to follow the trend and do neon nails. There are so many neon nail polishes out there and choosing the right neon will compliment your skin color and tan. For me, I chose a neon pink because my skin has olive undertones. If I chose a neon green or yellow, it will accentuate the greenness in my skin, making my hands look dull. Do you get what I mean? I try explaining this to my friends all the time but they give me a weird look and question my sanity.
+NOTW: Nude Summer#=
What's the best color to make your summer tan pop? A lot of people use white and neons, but I like using nudes. A nude nail color will enhance your tan and make it look a lot more natural and not as harsh as white. I don't like having plain white nails because they are b o r i n g! So get ready for some nice and nude nails :)
First, I applied a base coat from Revlon on all my nails (Revlon Extra Strength Base and Top Coat FirmaNail 955)
Next, I used three coats of a sheer nude color from Revlon (Revlon Sheer Nail Enamel in Sheer Buff 015)
Then, I used a yellow-gold crackle to accent my ring finger from Sally Hansen (Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Antique Gold)
Finally, I sealed my nails off with the same base and top coat. Good luck, girlies! :)
